Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a senior M&A tax professional in the United States (Chicago area) to help owners and investors manage tax exposures across buy-side and sell-side transactions. You will lead tax due diligence, structuring, and related advisory services.

The role requires strong technical tax skills, proven leadership of large engagement teams, and the ability to develop new business with private equity firms and corporate clients. Travel to client sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or related field required.
• Master's degree in Taxation or JD with LLM in taxation preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience
• CPA and/or licensed attorney required
• Previous experience in tax due diligence and merger and acquisitions tax consulting preferred
• Proven experience leading M&A tax services engagement teams at a large national professional services firm preferred
• Proven market facing skills required to develop new business and sustain existing excellent client relationships
• Minimum of 4 years of supervisory and training experience
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills
• Must be willing and able to travel to client locations

Responsibilities

• Engagement management with clients includes routinely working directly with c-suite executives to perform financial due diligence on middle-market companies.
• Work alongside private equity firms, strategic clients and investment banks to perform buy-side and sell-side due diligence as well as other M&A tax activities
• Responsible for all aspects of deal execution including sourcing and managing client relationships, analysis and execution of client deliverables and coaching and managing other team members
• Coordinate services as needed with other practice areas of the firm
• Build relationships with existing clients, including involvement in networking and business development activities
• Provide both leadership and supervision to Staff, Seniors and Managers
