Qualifications

• 1–3 years of prior work experience, ideally in investment banking, private equity sourcing, consulting, or a high-growth software or healthcare company.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; able to build a memo, a model, and a target list from scratch.
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with an ability to build graphically-enhanced storylines.
• Ability to wear multiple hats and a willingness to roll up sleeves.
• Comfort engaging founders and executives directly as the face of the firm.
• Fluency with AI tools and data platforms, or eagerness to build it; healthcare experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support deal sourcing, origination, and execution across sell-side and buy-side mandates.

About the role

The M&A Associate role is a full-time, remote position (Austin preferred) supporting deal sourcing, origination, and execution across PHP’s sell-side and buy-side mandates. Day-to-day activities include researching investment themes, constructing market maps, and building target universes for platform and add‑on searches using AI-enabled and claims-data sourcing tools; leading outbound to founders and owners, qualifying inbound, and preparing sponsor‑ready target memos and pipeline reporting for clients; and supporting the preparation of company presentations, CIMs, teasers and financial models, including managing data rooms and buyer outreach.

The Associate will also perform industry research and due diligence on companies, investors, and market trends, stay current on healthcare transaction, policy, and regulatory activity, and manage PHP’s CRM and proprietary target and relationship databases. This is a seat for someone who wants responsibility early and intends to earn it.

Benefits

Base salary between $85,000 and $95,000 (USD), with placement based on experience and skill level. Bonus potential is uncapped, tied directly to deals closed, with a clear path to senior responsibility as PHP scales.
