Job summary

JPS Health Network in Mansfield is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse II for a School-Based Health Center. You will provide total nursing care under provider orders and supervise as directed.

This role requires Texas LVN licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS when applicable, and pediatric care competencies. Typical schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with hourly compensation. Join a team committed to community health and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Vocational Nursing.
• Current Texas LVN license required and maintained.
• BLS certification required and maintained throughout employment.
• ACLS within 3 months of hire (ED/CC only).
• PALS within 90 days of hire and maintained where applicable.
• NRP certification obtained within 6 weeks of employment for specified units.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality nursing care to assigned groups of patients while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury.
• Records patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
• Conducts specified laboratory tests.
• Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Completes documentation to meet regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provides patient education directed towards identified knowledge deficits.
• Guides, educates, and provides leadership as a preceptor to LVNs and non-licensed clinical staff, as directed.
• Participates in performance improvement process initiatives within JPS Health Network and assigned department.

• Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment.

• EKG test passed within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment (required in Emergency Department and Critical Care only).
• Completion of Pediatric Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire and maintains credentialing throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
• Completion of unit specific competency-based orientation program within 90 days, if applicable.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 6 weeks of employment (for Inpatient Women’s Services only).
• Approved Education and Training in Non-Violent Crisis De-escalation must be obtained within 90 days of hire date and maintained throughout employment for the Emergency Department.
• 4875 Licensed Vocational Nurse I: 0 -1.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4876 Licensed Vocational Nurse II: 2-4.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4877 Licensed Vocational Nurse III: 5-9.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4878 Licensed Vocational Nurse IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.
