Job summary

Medina Healthcare System is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to assist in patient examination and treatment under the supervision of a physician or mid-level provider. The role includes taking vital signs, preparing rooms, and supporting the clinical team.

The ideal candidate will hold a Texas LVN license, have BLS, and be capable of scheduling tests and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with current LVN licensure (Texas Board of Nursing).
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to perform essential nursing duties under physician supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and record vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height).
• Prepare examination rooms and drape patients.
• Hand instruments to doctor and assist during procedures.
• Inventory and order medical supplies; maintain equipment logs.
• Schedule tests and appointments; enter data into the computer.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and administer injections.
• Call facility to schedule ancillary services.

POSITION PURPOSE:Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician or mid-level provider by performing the following duties.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.Calls medical facility to schedule patients for tests.Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.Schedules appointments for ancillary services.Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.Responsible for maintaining equipment logs.QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
