A healthcare provider in California is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for pediatric clinics. Responsibilities include providing nursing care to children with various health needs while ensuring compliance with health standards. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, LVN qualification, and at least one year of clinical experience. Additional certifications in BLS, phlebotomy, and IV are advantageous.
The LVN-Peds is responsible for providing nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems in all assigned Pediatric clinics. May require travel to off-site clinics. Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate from a school of Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) required. Minimum one year LVN clinical experience preferred.
Knowledge: Basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics within the LVN scope of practice.
Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
Essential Interpersonal Skills: Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
Essential Mental Abilities: Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
Essential Sensory Abilities: Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.
Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Phlebotomy and Intravenous (IV) certification preferred.
