Job summary

St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to deliver direct patient care, assess conditions, administer medications, and document care as part of a compassionate healthcare team.

You will collaborate with RNs and physicians to implement care plans, ensure patient safety, and maintain high-quality patient experiences in a fast-paced setting at the Grimes campus.

Qualifications

  • One year of healthcare experience required or upon hire.
  • TX LVN license required upon hire.
  • CPR certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled patient care according to nursing standards to meet patients' social, psychological, developmental and spiritual needs as assigned by the RN.
  • Document and record patient demographics, data and nursing interventions as required by unit and Health Systems’ policies.
  • Provide indirect patient care; assist in admission, transfer and discharge; perform housekeeping functions as delegated; transport patients as needed.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), you will provide vital direct patient care, significantly contributing to patient well-being and recovery as an integral part of our compassionate healthcare team.

Every day, you will assess patient conditions, administer medications, perform prescribed treatments, and meticulously document care. You will collaborate with RNs and physicians to implement individualized care plans, ensuring a seamless and high-quality patient experience.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient safety, and excellent communication. Your compassionate demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment are essential.

  • Provides skilled patient care according to established nursing standards to meet social, psychological, developmental and spiritual needs of the patient as assigned by the accountable RN.
  • Documents and records pertinent information related to patient demographics, graphic data and nursing interventions performed as indicated by unit, service, and Health Systems’ policies.
  • Provides indirect patient care. Assists in the admission, transfer, and discharge process; Performs housekeeping Functions as delegated, acts as a runner, transporter.
  • Consistently documents in the patient and unit records, according to written health system standards of care, in order to meet legal and quality patient care requirements. All documentation is to be neat and legible, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuum of care by optimizing patient flow: Updates assigned bed status, facilitates patient transfer and discharge, Assists other departmental personnel when picking up/returning patients, assisting to transport patients as needed, and facilitating new/transfer patient to unit.

St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Navasota, Texas offering a Level IV Trauma Center, in-patient and out-patient services, physical therapy, emergency care, occupational therapy, skilled nursing care, injury treatment and more.

The ED includes a triage room, 5 patient rooms and a central nurses' station. The ED maintains a specific designation for Stroke and Trauma care and is equipped with 24-hour emergency services, laboratory, and CT scans.

Pay Range

$31.00 - $31.00 /hour
