Job summary

ResCare Community Living, a part of Sevita, is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse for a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule in Texas. The role offers a $27 per hour rate and involves nursing services, training, and supports to address medical or psychiatric needs of individuals with brain injuries and developmental disabilities.

You will monitor health, administer medications, and coordinate with staff and external providers to ensure consistent care and ISP updates.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing or related field or state certificate.
• One year of experience in a nursing capacity with the served population.
• Current state LPN or LVN licensure for state of residence.
• Current driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance.
• Other certifications as required by state licensing regulations such as CPR/FA and HIV/AIDS certification, BBP, and ACT training.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff, individuals served, and families.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health conditions of individuals served and ensure quality services.
• Administer medications and document as well as oversee staff who administer medications.
• Provide prescribed medical treatment by physician’s orders and personal care services.
• Conduct assessments and implement health care services in each ISP; respond to changes of condition.
• Provide staff training including universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.
• Serve as liaison with medical and professional service providers and coordinate services with external agencies.
• Provide training for individuals served on topics including self-medication, prescribed treatments, sex education/STD prevention, and smoking cessation.
