Heritage Plaza Nursing Center in Texarkana, TX is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team on multiple shifts. You will participate in and direct patient care in accordance with clinical systems, regulations, and physician orders.

The LVN will supervise and coordinate nursing staff, administer medications, and ensure high-quality, compassionate care that supports residents' well-being. We offer competitive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Current, valid licensure as a LVN
• Experience in long-term healthcare preferred
• Management/Supervisory experience required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills needed
• Strong written and verbal skills required

Responsibilities

• Maintains nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice per licensure and Nurse Practice Act
• Evaluates staffing needs with Director of Nursing
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed
• Receives, transcribes, and implements physician orders
• Implements and evaluates care plans
• Identifies and secures equipment and supplies
• Directs and oversees subordinates
• Participates in duty assignments
• Coordinates subordinates, tasks and time
• Oversees staff performance and discipline where needed
• Monitors infection control compliance
• Investigates accidents/incidents
• Other duties as assigned

LVN responsibilities:

• Maintains appropriate nursing service objectives, goals, and standards of nursing practices consistent with licensure requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.

• Organizes/coordinates subordinates, job tasks, and time allotments.
• Oversees/monitors function and activities of subordinate staff.
• Evaluate staff performance and institutes appropriate action discipline/training.
• Monitor’s infection control compliance.
• Investigates/documents accidents/incidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

LVN Requirements:
