Job summary

The Midland-Health-2 unit is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support patient safety and lactation education within surgical care teams. The LVN operates under supervision of an RN or physician, ensuring safe and effective care aligned with nursing standards.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, collaboration with RNs to plan care, and applying sterile technique while supporting invasive procedures. Texas licensure and relevant certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Licensed Vocational Nursing license required.
• NRP and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to assess, project and plan for procedural needs.
• Expertise in sterile and aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and related tools.
• Complete hospital-provided continuing education on Advanced Sterile Processing Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessment and data interpretation.
• Collaborate with the RN to formulate goals, teaching plans and outcomes.
• Initiate interventions within the plan of care under regulatory parameters.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and coordinate follow-up care as needed.
• Make decisions in collaboration with the primary RN.
• Assess, project and plan for procedural needs.
• Apply sterile and aseptic technique in procedures.
