Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Network is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support primary and specialty care teams. The role involves preparing examination rooms, conducting initial nursing intake, reviewing medications, and coordinating IV medications under provider guidance.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, documenting patient information, and ensuring quality care within LVN scope, while advocating for patients and maintaining compliance in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nurse program.
• Valid CA LVN license required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association and/or the American Red Cross required.
• IV/BW (intravenous/blood withdrawal) certification required within 1 year of hire.
• 1+ years of LVN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs.
• Performs initial nursing intake and prepares patients for examination.
• Prepares patients for examination by reviewing current medications and documents in the medical record.
• Coordinates prescribed medications, injections, or IV medications with provider guidance.
• Provides basic patient care and treatments such as taking vitals and phlebotomy per provider instructions.
• Observes patient, documents, and reports changes in condition to the provider for required actions.
• Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes within the LVN scope of practice.
• Answers patient and physician messages with provider input.
• Serves as a patient advocate and applies resources to support patient care.
• Performs quality assurance and quality control to maintain compliance in the clinical environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needs
• Performs initial nursing intake and prepares patients for examination.
• Prepares patients for examination by reviewing current medications and reviewing documents in medical record.
• Prepares medical chart and records patient information needed to support the reason for visit such as vital signs and reason for visit.
• Coordinates prescribed medications, injections, or IV medications using standard process and as advised by provider.
• Provides basic patient care and treatments such as taking vitals, performing diagnostic tests, phlebotomy, and specimen collection advised by the provider.
• Observes patient, documents, and reports any changes in condition to the provider for instructions in taking vital actions for care.
• Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes within the LVN scope of practice.
• Answers patient and physician incoming messages with provider input.
• Serves as a patient advocate and applies appropriate resources to support patient care.
• Provides review of MA skills and performance abilities using designated evaluation tools.
• Performs quality assurance and quality control measures to maintain compliance in the clinical environment.

Qualifications

Education:

• Completion of an accredited Vocational Nurse program

Licenses/Certifications:
