University Health Careers seeks a Vocational Nurse to provide nursing care to juvenile patients at the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center and the Secured Juvenile Corrections Treatment Center in Texas. You will deliver care in accordance with UH and DHCS policies and TJJD standards, continuously monitor patient status, and uphold UH values.
Experience in correctional health care, psychiatric nursing, or emergency settings is preferred.
Provides nursing care to juvenile patients in the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center and in the Bexar County Secured Juvenile Corrections Treatment Center in accordance with the UH and DHCS policies and standards. Provides medical care in accordance with the TJJD (Texas Juvenile Justice Department) standards. Continuously monitors the condition and status of patients and delivers care that meets or exceeds established standards. Supports and adheres to University Health (UH) and Detention Health Care Services (DHCS) policies and procedures. Is aware of condition and status of patients and efficiently performs assigned duties. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with UH mission, vision and values. Promotes excellent internal and external customer relations.
Experience in correctional health care, psychiatric nursing, or nursing in an emergency environment is preferred. Prior knowledge or experience within the University Health nursing services and/or certification as a Certified Correctional Health Care Provider (CCHP) is also preferred.
Must possess a current license to practice Vocational Nursing in the State of Texas. Must also maintain current CPR certification.
