Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health's Copperas Cove Outpatient Clinic is seeking an LVN Charge Nurse to deliver patient care in designated units, perform assessments, contribute to care plans, and supervise nursing teams.

The role requires an LVN license, BLS, and at least two years of experience. You will participate in quality initiatives, tailor care to individual patients, and support staff development in a full-time day shift.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pursued or obtained a nursing major.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a relevant field.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure required.
  • BLS certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Job Summary

As an LVN Charge Nurse, provide patient care in designated units. Perform assessments, contribute to care plans, and document patient changes. Supervise nursing care efforts. Assign tasks to other personnel. Ensure quality care delivery accountability. Take corrective action when necessary.

Essential Functions Of The Role
  • Administer clinical assessments with reasoning. Identify, prioritize patient needs. Develop, implement, evaluate nursing plan. Modify plan for outcomes.
  • Participate in the initiatives aimed at improving the quality and performance of our healthcare services.
  • Create a therapeutic and conducive environment for patients, their families, and our staff.
  • Tailor the care plan to accommodate the unique differences of each patient and their family.
  • Act on behalf of patients in addressing concerns of an ethical and clinical nature.
  • Facilitate learning opportunities not only for patients and their families but also for our nursing staff and the community.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues and the community to execute an integrated care plan.
  • Utilize resources wisely to resolve potential issues for patients, their families, and our staff.
  • Take part in staffing processes and contribute to the professional development of peers.
Key Success Factors
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations, and certification standards. Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care ethics is helpful.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in computers is essential for documentation and communication in clinical settings.
