Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care as part of a compassionate healthcare team. You will assess conditions, administer medications, and document care to support patient recovery.

You will collaborate with RNs and physicians to implement individualized care plans, ensure safety, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment. CA LVN license, BLS, and CA driver’s license are required; hospice LVN experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a BRN approved school of vocational nursing.
  • 1-3 years Minimum 2 years acute care experience within previous 5 years.
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA
  • Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider.
  • Driver's License: CA
  • CA Auto Insurance

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process for planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and updates Plan of Care as appropriate to patient condition/need
  • Performs documentation in patient records that is timely, accurate, and concise
  • Provides appropriate support at time of death
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations, following established protocols, appropriate communication and documentation
  • Communicates with Interdisciplinary Team members regarding patient status and changes to Plan of Care per Hospice policy
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities. Participates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activities

Your compassionate demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality .Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
