Job Summary

Responsible for answering customer questions and selling products to meet sales goals. Typically has a few years of sales experience and is training for a higher position.

Responsibilities
  • Handle all aspects of sales and customer service.
  • Enhance sales staff accomplishments by planning, delivering solutions, mentoring team members, and teaching improved processes.
  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning daily calls on existing or potential outlets.
  • Adjust sales presentations based on the type of outlet or trade factor.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential dealer volume.
  • Submit orders using price lists and product literature.
  • Keep management informed with activity and results reports (daily/weekly/monthly).
  • Monitor competition and marketplace information.
  • Recommend product, service, and policy changes based on results and developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints with investigations, solutions, and reporting.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training and networking.
  • Maintain historical records of area and customer sales; contribute to team efforts as needed.
  • Generate and maximize sales by encouraging clients to purchase.
  • Maintain product knowledge and merchandise care information; stay updated on new items and store policies.
  • Develop and maintain client books; keep records of sales.
  • Follow customer service guidelines (greeting, returns, exchanges, loss prevention).
  • Greet, serve, and advise clients with outstanding service; assist with mailings, phone orders, floor moves, merchandising, and replenishment.
  • Process and replenish merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
  • Tag merchandise as needed; keep the sales floor clean and orderly according to standards.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma (or GED) and either a degree in Retail, Fashion or related field or equivalent work experience and education.
  • Five plus years’ high-end retail, boutique or sales-related work experience.
  • Understand inventory, customer experience, and merchandising.
  • Proficient with Cegid transactions (sales, returns, exchanges, CRM, reports) and open/close registers per guidelines.
  • Proficient with the UPS System; able to prepare and send shipments and check shipments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in daily duties; align with company policies.
  • Familiarity with store operations; strong interpersonal communication.
  • Organized self-starter in a multi-task, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use computer systems and POS; read, count and write for documentation.
  • Ability to access all store areas and operate necessary equipment.
  • Interest in researching and exploring new marketplace trends; willingness to travel between boutiques as needed.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Additional language skills (French) are a plus.
Physical and Working Conditions
  • Light work: exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently; ability to sit and stand as needed.
  • Close visual acuity for data and figures, reading, and inspection tasks.
  • Environment includes indoor and outdoor activities as required.
