Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond seeks a Surgical Director for Lung Transplant Surgery within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Responsibilities

• Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in Cardiothoracic Surgery, CT surgery residents, general surgery residents as well as medical and undergraduate students. Must be able to mentor cardiothoracic fellows with graded surgery responsibilities.
• Research: Clinical research and trial participation is required. Opportunities for intramural and extramural funding will be explored with a goal towards extramural funding in collaboration with basic science faculty in Surgery, Pauley Heart Center, Massey Cancer Center and School of Medicine.
• Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental, College, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field, e.g., reviewer, conference organizer, etc. Clinical responsibilities may be extended to a shared time between VCU and VA Medical Centers.
• Other: This role has dedicated time for administrative aspects of leading the lung transplant program.
