Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an exceptional surgical leader to serve as Surgical Director of the MGB Comprehensive Lung Recovery Program. The role, aligned with Harvard Medical School, combines clinical leadership with research, education, and program development across MGB sites.

The successful candidate will have an MD, board certification, and at least five years of lung transplantation leadership, with a track record in outcomes research and extramural funding.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree required and board certified/licensed.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in lung transplantation.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements governing transplant programs.
• National or international reputation in surgical outcomes or health services research.
• Sustained peer‑reviewed scholarship and extramural funding.
• Commitment to teaching, mentorship, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, clinical, operational, and academic leadership for the Lung Recovery Program.
• Integrate transplantation, ECMO, EVLP and other therapies into a unified program across MGB sites.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and drive program growth and innovation.
• Ensure governance, quality metrics, and regulatory oversight across the transplant center.
• Foster education, research, and translational science within the department.
