Job summary

The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA invites applications for full-time Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine. The candidate will lead research on lung biology and injury, develop preclinical and ex vivo models, publish results, and secure ongoing extramural funding while mentoring students and post‑docs.

Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent and a strong track record in lung research.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent is required.
• Experience in independently developing and executing preclinical and ex vivo models of lung disease.
• Record of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals and securing extramural funding.
• Demonstrated ability to train students and post‑doctoral Fellows.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research related to lung biology and disease with a focus on lung injury.
• Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and contribute to scientific dissemination.
• Develop and sustain an extramural funding program for the research group.
• Participate in training and mentoring of students and post‑doctoral fellows.
