Job summary

Clear Creek ISD Ward Elem – Houston, Texas, is seeking a Lunchroom Monitor for the 2026‑27 school year. This role promotes student safety and well-being during lunch periods and supports the district’s mission and strategic plan.

The candidate will supervise students, assist with lunchroom tasks, and maintain positive, professional interactions with staff, students, and families. Some experience with children is preferred; citizenship or work eligibility is required.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of campus lunchroom behavior standards.
  • Ability to cope with a variety of students in varied situations.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with school-age children and others.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate discipline and student safety in the cafeteria according to district policies.
  • Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately.
  • Supervise student behavior during lunch periods, including serving lines, meals, and dismissal.
  • Assist students with managing food items (opening milk cartons, packages, thermos, cans).
  • Collect bagged trash from classroom lunches and deposit in the campus dumpster.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in communication with teachers, parents, students and staff.
  • Demonstrate CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
  • Stay up-to-date professionally through quality professional learning opportunities.
