The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking a dependable Lunch and Recess Monitor to supervise students in grades PK–8 during lunch and recess. You will help create a safe, clean, and positive environment where students can eat, socialize, and play.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Students: Monitor classrooms, the cafeteria, the playground, and hallways during lunch and recess periods to ensure student safety and well-being.
• Enforce School Rules: Fairly and consistently reinforce school behavior expectations, playground safety guidelines, and cafeteria manners across all grade levels (PK–8).
• Manage Cafeteria Flow: Assist students with opening food packaging, cleaning up spills, and organizing recycling or trash disposal.
• Facilitate Playground Play: Monitor outdoor games, resolve minor peer conflicts peacefully, and ensure students use playground equipment safely.
• Respond to Incidents: Identify and immediately report any injuries, illness, bullying, or significant behavioral issues to the school administration or nursing staff.
• Transition Students: Assist teachers and staff in safely transitioning students to and from the cafeteria, playground, and their classrooms.
