Job summary

Jobandtalent is seeking a Lumper for a refrigerated warehouse in Elkton. The role focuses on loading/unloading and organizing time-sensitive food shipments in a fast-paced environment.

Overnight schedule is Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri from 7 PM to 6:45 AM, with a pay rate of 20.75 USD per hour. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, warehouse experience, and familiarity with equipment like pallet jacks, pacers, and reach trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred (pallet jack, pacer, reach truck, etc.).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Remove product from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Coordinate with receivers and reach truck operators to ensure the proper flow of inbound product.
• Maintain cleanliness and repair of dock and facility areas.
• Maintain all food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards.
• Break down each load accordingly.

You will operate in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment, prioritizing speed and freshness while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Shift Patterns

• Overnight shift: Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri, 7PM to 6:45AM.

Desirable Requirements for Lumper

• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Ability to train and mentor other team members.
• Ability to remove product from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to check temperature of product and report any discrepancies to a supervisor.
• Ability to hand-stack all floor loaded trucks appropriately (labels out, correct ti-hi, no mixed product, etc.).
• Ability to wrap pallets to ensure stability and stacked safely for transport to storage.
• Ability to check condition of pallets and exchange where necessary.
