Home Improvement Outlet in West Monroe, LA, is seeking a Lumberyard Material Handler to manage the flow of building materials for residential projects. This full-time, outdoor role focuses on moving lumber, pulling and staging orders, and supporting local deliveries with a safety-first mindset.

The position offers hands-on training within a family-owned team and a pathway to long-term employment. Candidates should be able to lift 50–75 lbs, work outdoors, and collaborate closely with customers

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient movement of lumber and building materials to meet daily needs.
• Pull and stage complex orders for local delivery and pickup with accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely after training.
• Maintain organized inventory across the lumberyard to optimize access.
• Assist customers and contractors with loading and unloading heavy materials.
• Coordinate with delivery drivers to streamline loading dock operations.
• Uphold safety standards and cleanliness for a hazard-free work environment.

You will play a foundational role in our daily operations by managing the flow of critical building materials for our residential customers. How You Will Make An Impact

• Facilitate the efficient movement of lumber and building materials to meet daily customer and contractor needs.
• Execute the pulling and staging of complex orders to ensure accuracy for local delivery and pickup.
• Operate forklifts and specialized material-handling equipment safely following comprehensive internal training.
• Organize and maintain inventory levels across the lumberyard to optimize accessibility and workflow.
• Assist customers and professional contractors with the manual loading and unloading of heavy materials.
• Collaborate with delivery drivers to streamline loading dock operations and maintain strict turnaround times.
• Uphold rigorous safety standards and cleanliness protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment for the team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to consistently lift and maneuver 50-75 lbs in an active, hands-on setting.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proven reliability and a strong work ethic as evidenced by past professional or personal experience.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, or construction labor role.
• Basic functional knowledge of residential building materials, including lumber grades and panel types.
• Prior experience operating heavy machinery or material handling equipment.
