Job summary

West Fraser is hiring for an entry-level forklift operator in our lumberyard. You will safely operate a forklift to move lumber, maintain inventory, and support clean, efficient work areas. You will engage with supervision and maintenance teams to address equipment and production issues, while following safety procedures.

We value mechanical aptitude, basic math, and reliable attendance. The role may require outdoor work in various conditions and occasional overtime to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude to identify lift issues and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Strong math skills for inventory and counting tasks.
• Must complete or have completed forklift operation training.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with supervisor and team.
• Commitment to safety and ability to follow lockout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move lumber and maintain production flow.
• Keep daily PM checklist and forklift clean.
• Maintain rough shed inventory and orderly workstations.
• Participate in safety procedures and housekeeping.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and other shifts as required.
• Perform entry level lumberyard duties as needed.
