Job summary

Marvin's Building Materials Inc in Greenville, AL seeks a Yard Associate for the Lumber Yard. This full-time, on-site role involves customer service, loading/unloading, and assisting drivers to deliver materials to homes and job sites.

You will operate forklifts, maintain yard safety, and support cashiers and contractor sales. Must lift up to 100 lbs and have basic math, reading, and speaking skills. High school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification and delivery experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work at heights.
• Experience dealing with the public and basic math, reading, and speaking skills.
• Knowledge of lumber and building materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers or contractors upon entry into yard or warehouse.
• Operate forklift to merchandise and stock yard and warehouse.
• Assist truck drivers in delivery of merchandise to homeowners and job sites.
• Load materials into customers’ vehicles or on to company delivery vehicles, based on records from POS system.
• Develop expertise related to forklifts, warehouse lifts, pallet jacks, and equipment.
• Unload incoming freight without damage to goods or equipment.
• Assemble loads and prepare materials for delivery.
• Identify shortages and report to store management.
• Maintain yard and warehouse in clean, orderly condition.
• Assist cashiers or staff with customer help at register.
• Assist with contractor sales counter functions as necessary.
