Job summary

GLISS is hiring for a Lumber Yard Worker at our North Plains, OR yard. You will help with receiving, handling and organizing lumber, wrapping and palletizing products, and preparing materials for shipment. Training is provided for operating large saws and hand tools.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, production, or lumber yard experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Comfortable standing, bending, lifting, and working with lumber throughout the day
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Steel-toe boots required
• Working in all weather
• Site is not bus accessible- must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Varied positions throughout the lumber yard
• Receiving, handling, and organizing lumber products
• Wrapping, packing, and palletizing wood products
• Operating large industrial saws and hand tools (training provided)
• Stacking, sorting, and organizing lumber
• Preparing materials for shipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
