Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Production Worker for our Camden, Texas Lumber mill. The role supports lumber production from log processing to finished boards, requiring attention to safety and efficiency in a non-climate-controlled mill.

Responsibilities include operating mill equipment, stacking lumber, and assisting in upkeep and maintenance while adhering to safety guidelines. Candidates should be able to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment
• Two (2) years or more of experience in manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry, mechanical, or construction environment
• Experience driving and operating a forklift or other heavy equipment
• Experience working in wood products (plywood, lumber, or timber industry)

Responsibilities

• Develop skillsets required to run lumber mill equipment
• Remove lumber from conveyors and stack onto carts
• Assist in cleanup, operation, and maintenance of production equipment including but not limited to machine operation, forklift, and heavy equipment operation
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking out potential safety hazards, including wearing safety equipment
• Read and comprehend written instructions as required to complete assigned tasks
• Work cooperatively and productively with supervisors, co-workers, and other associates to complete tasks, meet safety, production, and quality goals
• Cross train on various machines in any department to increase operational knowledge
• Ability to work any hours, to include a variety of shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
