Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, is seeking a Lube Service Technician to maintain heavy equipment, trucks, and mobile machinery in Utah. You will perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, fluid changes, and inspections, while keeping accurate service records and supporting mechanics.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL with HazMat endorsements (or ability to obtain), and prior experience with CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, or John Deere equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid CDL with HazMat endorsements or ability to obtain.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read maintenance schedules and service manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures.
  • Experience with construction/mining/aggregate/transport industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, and support vehicles.
  • Change engine oil, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, gear oils, coolant, and filters per schedule.
  • Lubricate equipment components, including bearings and moving parts.
  • Conduct visual inspections for leaks, wear, damage, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain maintenance records and assist mechanics as needed.
  • Operate service trucks safely and support maintenance tasks.

Swing Shift
Position Overview

As a Lube Service Technician, you will support the maintenance and performance of heavy equipment, trucks, and mobile machinery. This will include but not limited to mobile power generators, wheel loaders, Dozers track hoes, skid steers etc. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance services, including lubrication, fluid changes, inspections, routine servicing of company equipment and the tracking and management of parts/tools.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Perform preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment, trucks, and support vehicles.
  • Change engine oil, hydraulic fluids, transmission fluids, gear oils, coolant, and filters according to maintenance schedules.
  • Lubricate equipment components, including bearings, pins, bushings, and other moving parts.
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment for leaks, wear, damage, and safety concerns.
  • Inspect tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, hoses, belts, and other critical components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
  • Report maintenance issues and repair needs to supervisors and mechanics.
  • Assist mechanics with basic repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, shop, and service vehicle.
  • Follow company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Operate service trucks and fueling/lubrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment maintenance schedules and service manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
Work Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Previous experience performing preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, construction equipment, or commercial vehicles.
  • Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, John Deere, or similar heavy equipment.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or the ability to obtain a CDL, with tanker and hazardous materials (HazMat) endorsements.
  • Welding, fabrication, or basic repair experience.
  • Experience in construction, mining, aggregate, asphalt, ready mix, or transportation industries.
  • MSHA and OSHA training a positive.
