Job summary

O'Gara Coach is seeking a Lube Technician in Thousand Oaks, CA to perform basic preventative maintenance, inspect vehicles, and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with our service department and management to deliver superior service, maintain a clean workspace, and adhere to safety and local regulations. A high school diploma and California driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Inform Service Manager if vehicle is down awaiting parts.
• Document work performed on each vehicle.
• Road test vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification.
• Examine vehicle to determine additional safety or service work.

Job description

Lube Technician will perform basic preventative maintenance, inspect vehicles for potential problems, and troubleshoot issues to ensure vehicles are performing properly and the needs of customers are appropriately addressed. This role is expected to partner with our service department team and management to deliver superior service.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Take accurate notes on vehicle condition
• Prior dealership experience is a must

• Drive manual and automatic transmissions

Duties And Responsibilities

• Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts
• Inform Service Manager if vehicle is down awaiting parts
• Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer
• Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
• Inform Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised
• Complete a thorough Multi-Point inspection on each vehicle
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the Repair Order
• Road test vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification
• Continually monitor status of each vehicle and inform the Service Manager; elevate wait jobs as much as possible; monitor promised times and advise if there will be a problem meeting a promised time as soon as it becomes apparent
• Ensure that each vehicle is returned clean
• Report to management any situation or condition that would jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers, or its employees
• Properly use special tools and equipment provided by dealership or manufacturers; maintain an inventory of standard Technician tools not normally inventoried by dealership as special tools
• Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Comply with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policy, regarding safeguarding customers’ vehicles, property, and information
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Report to management any problems with equipment, tools or dangerous conditions
• Produce quality work
• Review technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management
• Participate and utilize technical training as requested by management

COMPENSATION: $20.00 -25.00/hr. (depending on experience)
