Job summary

Take Five Oil Change is hiring a Lube Technician in Illinois. Starting pay ranges from $16.50 to $20.00 per hour with a $300 signing bonus. You will perform basic maintenance, guide customers on service options, and keep the shop clean and organized.

Training is provided, and advancement opportunities exist within the company. We offer a friendly, car-owner‑facing environment where you’ll work closely with a team dedicated to quick, quality oil changes and light maintenance.

Qualifications

• Customer service mindset and positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn oil changes and basic maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Drain motor oil and replace oil filter.
• Grease chassis fittings and change oil according to vehicle needs.
• Wash windshield and adjust tire pressure.
• Inspect and top off fluids; assist customer in selecting oil type and services.
• Process payment for services performed.
• Perform coolant exchanges and fill services.
• Restock and maintain inventory on the shop floor.

What does a Lube Technician do?

• Drain motor oil, change the oil filter, grease chassis fittings

Good to Know Before You Start!

• It might feel like you are studying for a test at the beginning. Its important that all employees gain a strong knowledge of our oils and services.
• Must maneuver in and out of a shallow 3' deep pit used to position yourself safely under cars
• You will walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
• You may need to work in hot/cold weather conditions
• Always be alert and aware of your surroundings
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
• Need to have reliable transportation
