Job summary

Kamaaina Nissan Inc is seeking an entry-level to mid-level automotive service technician in Hawaii. You will work with an assigned technician to learn quality maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, fluid checks, minor repairs, and inspections.

Responsibilities include communicating repair options in writing and following safety procedures. A valid driver’s license and ASE certifications are required; training is provided and advancing within the service department is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 2 ASE certifications minimum are required.
  • A valid driver's license is required and a clean driving record.

  • Assist technician to learn quality vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including oil changes and fluid checks.

Job description

Works alongside an assigned technician to learn to perform quality vehicle service maintenanceand repairs. Completes Oil and Filter Changes: Perform oil changes and replace oil filters according toestablished procedures. Completes Fluid Checks and Fills: Check and top off engine oil, transmission fluid, powersteering fluid, antifreeze, and brake fluid. Completes Minor Repairs: Replace light bulbs, fuses, and other minor components. Completes Vehicle Inspections: Inspect vehicles for safety issues and identify potential repairs. Completes Lubrication and Adjustment: Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts and components. Explains services and repair options in writing to customers in a professional manner. Completes Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures. Completes additional tasks: May include tire rotations, battery testing, and other routinemaintenance tasks, as needed. Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians. Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians. Performs safety inspections, oil changes, lubrication work, basic maintenance, and minor repairsas directed. Replenishs supplies as requested by technicians or the service manager. Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor. Completes all maintenance services scheduled throughout the day Completes all Pre Delivery inspections as a certified tech Follows up and complies with any decision made by Service Manager or supervisor to fulfillcustomer satisfaction and productivity level. Regardless of previous assignment, Bo parts or upsale. Attends training classes and departmental meetings. Operates all tools and equipment safely. Keeps up with all Manufacturer training, safety compliance training, OEM training, andsecurity on a timely basis. Driving is essential to the position; must have a current valid driver's license and a clean drivingabstract. Goggles/eye protection, gloves, ear plugs, and back brace are provided by theorganization and must always be included in their toolbox or workstation. PPE approvedclothing/uniform and footwear, closed-toe, steel toes and slip-resistant soles, worn at all times.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employeeencounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
