Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and adjust as needed.
  • Ability to access elevated work areas (ladders/stairs).
  • Basic math skills to perform calculations.
  • Understand and apply standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain clean work area per GMPs.
  • Good communication with co-workers and shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor fillers to ensure proper filling, seals, and product integrity.
  • Complete hourly calibration checks.
  • Record scale tare weights and other data as required.
  • Communicate any performance or packaging concerns up/downstream.
  • Follow startup/shutdown procedures to protect equipment.
  • Perform GMP and 5S housekeeping duties.

Summary Description:

The Line 2 Case Packer (AMF) Operator ensures that proper product weight controls, package labels, and packaging meet customer specifications and all final product cases are properly labeled and filled.

All other duties as assigned.

This is a Team Member II position paying $23.65 per hour with an additional $1/hr for time worked between 6pm and 6am

Monitor operations of fillers to ensure efficient filling of cases of cheese, proper seals and product integrity, including box and bag changes and product changeovers

Complete hourly calibration checks

Monitor operations of Hi-Speed scale to ensure proper parameters are used and correct tare weights entered. Utilize feedback from GL watching rejects

Accurately complete all required operational documentation and checklist such as scale logs, hourly case average, box tare weight sheet, start-up checklist, etc.

Ensure proper communication up and downstream in the event of performance/product/packaging concerns

Follow setup procedures ensuring all equipment are operational at startup, and conversely, completes shut-down procedure preventing damage and water exposure of equipment.

Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors

Follow sanitation procedures of all equipment at shutdown

Complete assigned GMP and housekeeping duties and maintain 5S standards as required

  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct

Ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies such as, inspecting product to meet customer specifications, notifying the supervisor/team lead in the event of clumps, extraneous, etc. and ensuring correct bag codes for each product run

Complete paperwork accurately. Know and understand the normal operational readings for all data recorded and action to be taken if outside normal operations

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Must be 18 years of age

Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English language

Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary

Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders/stairs

Basic math skills to be able to perform mathematical functions

Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures

Ability to maintain clean work area according to good manufacturing processes

Good communication skills to communicate with co-workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

One year of work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in machine operation and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment are preferred.
