Job summary

Chromalloy Corporation is hiring a Production Operator in Windsor, Connecticut. Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds from floor to waist.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds from waist to shoulder level.
  • Must be able to pull 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-train on operations within multiple areas.
  • Use various tools to prepare and process molds and equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and participate in training.
  • Perform hand cleaning of aircraft engine parts.
  • Load and deliver aircraft parts to work areas.
  • Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists when needed.

Skills

Ability to use hand tools and gauges
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Autobody and mechanical background

Job description

As a Production Operator, you will work in a fast‑paced, high‑speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Cross‑train on operations within multiple areas.
  • Use hand, power, and machine tools to facilitate preparation, cleaning, and processes of molds, equipment, parts, assemblies, or machinery. Equipment may include hand knives, automated power or hand cutters, injection mould presses, cranes or other lifting devices, oven operations, drills, manual mills, etc.
  • Follow standard and non‑standard operating procedures to cut, shape, bond, lay‑up, form, inject, cure, trim, drill, and repair composite and metal parts.
  • Use simple inspection devices such as protractors, calipers, micrometers, tapes, tension or weight scales, gauges, etc. to ensure quality of operation processes performed. Inspect and certify own work to establish standards.
  • Perform job duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Participate in safety training and understand the directions in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE Assessments, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and other safety procedures and alerts.
  • Utilize chemical cleaning procedures.
  • Perform hand cleaning to include acid etch, sanding, blending, and deburring of aircraft engine parts to remove foreign elements from parts.
  • Load and deliver aircraft parts to appropriate work areas.
  • Occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist in the performance of work.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Autobody and mechanical background preferred.
  • Ability to use hand tools and gauges.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment using work instructions preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
Physical Requirements
  • Lift floor to waist – 25 pounds.
  • Lift waist to shoulder level – 25 pounds.
  • Pull – 40 pounds.
