Salary Range: $5,035.99 - $6,779.25 monthly

Shift: Day

Travel: Up to 85%

Work hours: 8 am – 5 pm, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site inspections, complaint and incident investigations, and annual comprehensive surveys for long‑term care providers.
  • Prepare written reports detailing deficiencies, remedies, and narrative to support regulatory determinations.
  • Testify at hearings or court proceedings regarding findings and compliance determinations.
  • Meet with facility staff to discuss preliminary findings and exit conferences.
  • Establish priorities, gather evidence, ensure chain of custody, and conduct investigations.
  • Review and approve corrective action plans; recommend enforcement actions.
  • Train new hires and conduct on‑job training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and be available for on‑call duties.

  • Knowledge and interpretation of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program area.
  • Skill in conducting inspections and investigations, determining proper courses of action.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prepare reports, interpret laws and regulations, analyze data, and exercise professional judgment.
  • Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in potentially emotion‑filled, violent, or dangerous environments.
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, laptops, smartphones, fax machines, copy machines, and Microsoft Office.
Licensure Requirements

Valid Class C (or higher) Texas driver’s license or an equivalent license from another state.

Additional Information

Flexibility in work hours is required. The position involves approximately 80% travel, including statewide, overnight, and weekend travel. On‑call duties may be required for emergencies or high‑priority situations. Reliable transportation is necessary.
