Responsible for providing assistance to residents with all Activities of Daily Living (ADL). Responsible for notifying the Charge Nurse of any change in a resident's condition.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.* Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policy and procedures.* Obtain and record blood pressure, O2Sats, pulse, respiration and temperature. Report abnormal vital signs immediately to charge nurse.* Responsible for restocking items used and keeping resident rooms, bathrooms and whirlpool rooms neat and tidy.* Provide direct resident cares following the facility Care Plan Communicator (CPC).* Answer call lights & alarms in a timely manner.* Document intake and output, behavior charting, bowel and bladder records, and meal consumption daily.* Empty urinary catheter/ostomy drainage bags and document output.* Comply with all safety policy and procedures including but not limited to proper transfer techniques (i.e. mechanical lifts, use of gait belts, etc.).* Assume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within job description.* Assist with admitting/dismissing residents.* Perform unit duties/job tasks as assigned in Behavior books.* Perform unit duties including tidying patient rooms, passing fresh water, straightening patient kitchen, stripping beds after dismissal, getting and returning meal cart at breakfast and supper from the Dietary Department at the Care Center.* Practice the proper fire, safety and disaster procedures as set forth by SMC.* Participate in all quality, safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department.* Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times and report violations to the Privacy Officer.* Understand and comply with the requirements of the Saunders Medical Center’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, all Saunders Medical Center-wide policies for compliance, and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.* Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Saunders Medical Center policy and as requested by the Supervisor.* Demonstrate personal traits of a high-level commitment, motivation and energy; team orientation; professionalism; trust; personal honesty and integrity; and a demonstration of placing others in a place of high value and treating them with dignity and respect.* Other duties as assigned.##### Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.##### Disclosure StatementThe above statements reflect the general details considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job as identified, and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the position.####### Qualifications##### Education and/or ExperiencePrefer high school graduate or equivalency.##### Certificates Licenses, RegistrationsNebraska Nurse Aide Certification required.##### Language SkillsMust be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions and possess positive skills in communication.
