Good Samaritan in Watertown, SD, seeks an Activities Assistant for Long Term Care (LTC). The role offers a day shift, full-time schedule with 35 weekly hours, and starting pay from $14.50 to $22.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in social services or creative activities is preferred.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics.
• Preferred current CNA certification or currently enrolled in a healthcare related program preferred.
• BLS may be required based on location; CPR training may be required within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Strives to improve the quality of life for patients/residents by providing activities and interventions on a one-on-one and/or group basis.
• Administers the monthly activity calendar and elicits patient input into planning.
• Assists with simple nursing procedures and transporting patients/residents to and from rooms; maintains documentation in MDS/EPIC.
• Demonstrates leadership to develop and motivate people and to handle behavioral issues.
• Plans and oversees utilization of resources and designs work processes.
