The Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) plays a critical role in assisting healthcareproviders with direct patient care and clinical support within a clinicalsetting.

Thisposition requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Qualifiedcandidates must possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, communicationskills, organizational skills, patient education, care coordination, and apatient-focused attitude.

Dutiesand Responsibilities:

• Reviews and prepares medical records to ensurecompleteness prior to patient exam, obtaining missing documentation.Documents clinic visit, observations, and related activities.
• Assists with initiation of patient history and physicalassessment. Assist physicians with physical exams and simple in-houseprocedures.
• Checks patient vital signs and takes body measurements,documenting results in patient chart.
• Prepares and maintains exam and treatment rooms,cleaning after patient discharges to ensure a clean and sanitizedenvironment.
• Maintains supplies inventory and ensures patient careequipment is clean and properly functioning, reporting defective equipmentand supplies to supervisor.
• Collects specimens and prepares them for lab andperforms urinalysis on urine specimens. Prepares lab results forphysicians to sign.
• Administers breathing treatments, injections, performsEKGs, etc.
• Answers phone calls, relaying patient requests andquestions to appropriate individuals. Explains provider instructions topatient, as appropriate. Provides teaching to patients and families withinscope of knowledge base.
• Assists with scheduling/referral of patients forspecific treatments.
• Responds to medical emergencies and administers firstaid as appropriate.
• Provide Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) clinical supportfor other site locations as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.

MinimumQualifications:

• Graduate of anaccredited Practical Nursing Program.
• Current LicensedPractical Nurse (LPN) license in practicing state.
• Three (3) years ofexperience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred.
• Must possess andmaintain a valid driver's license.

PhysicalRequirements:

The physical activities of this position mayinclude climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping,kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance andcoordination. The physical requirements of this position are medium work -exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of forcefrequently. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required to have close visualacuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform anactivity, such as assessing patients, and analyzing data and figures;transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. Frequent invasiveand non-invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids as well asexposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
