Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse license in Indiana.
• CPR Certification.
• One-year practical nursing experience in an acute care setting or medical office desirable.
• High school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing are required.

Responsibilities

• Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physician.
• Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
• Maintains timely flow of patients.
• Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination.
• Instructs a patient in collection of samples and tests.
• Arranges for patient testing, admission, and surgical procedures.
• Responds to telephone calls, making accurate assessment and taking complete messages; phones prescription orders into pharmacy.
• Assists with patient and family teaching.
• Ensures charts are prepared for the day and that all appropriate papers are in place.
• Applies principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment.
• Labels and maintains proper storage of specimens.
• Performs related work as required and requested within scope of ability, training, and licensure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
