Job summary

Wake Endoscopy – Raleigh, part of AmSurg Corp, is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient endoscopy team. The LPN provides direct patient care in preoperative and postoperative areas, working with RNs, anesthesia providers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted LPN license in North Carolina or valid multistate license with NC authority.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication, organizational and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, obtain vital signs, review medical histories and complete preoperative documentation.
• Assist with patient assessments and communicate changes in condition to the supervising RN.
• Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and administer medications per LPN scope and policy.
• Provide postoperative nursing care, monitor vitals, comfort, and recovery progress.
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition or complications promptly.
• Assist with patient discharge and reinforce discharge instructions under RN supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow and daily operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.

Wake Endoscopy – Raleigh is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our outpatient endoscopy team. The LPN will provide direct patient care in the preoperative and postoperative areas, working collaboratively with Registered Nurses, anesthesia providers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, including obtaining vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and completing preoperative documentation.
• Assist with patient assessments and identify changes in patient condition for timely communication to the supervising RN.
• Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access and administer medications and treatments as permitted by the North Carolina LPN scope of practice, facility policy, and applicable supervision requirements.
• Provide postoperative nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, patient comfort, and recovery progress.
• Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition or potential complications.
• Assist with patient discharge, including reviewing discharge instructions and reinforcing patient education under RN supervision.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to support efficient patient flow and daily operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in North Carolina or a valid multistate license with authorization to practice in North Carolina.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgery center, endoscopy center, PACU, preoperative, or postoperative setting.
• Experience with IV insertion, medication administration, and electronic medical records.
• Familiarity with gastrointestinal procedures, anesthesia recovery, and outpatient patient care.
