Job summary

The State of Louisiana Northeast LA Veterans Home in Monroe is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to provide quality nursing care to residents in stable conditions, under supervision, in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by an NLC/eNLC state.

Responsibilities

• Implement nursing care plan aspects (comfort, hygiene, safety, nutrition) under supervision.
• Observe patients for changes and report significant status changes.
• Take vital signs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Transcribe orders and document patient condition in charts.
• Assist with routine examinations and treatments; provide health teaching.
