Job summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse position at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home supports veterans and their spouses by delivering reliable and compassionate nursing care.

Shifts are 12.5 hours from 6:45 PM to 7:45 AM, 75 hours per pay period, with work on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Starting salary is $68,914 per year; telework is not available. Active PA LPN licensure is required or must be obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• If not currently licensed, licensure must be obtained within one year of appointment.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.

Responsibilities

• Support RN with health status assessments and accurate documentation.
• Administer medications and treatments; verify orders and maintain records.
• Observe residents for changes and report findings, documenting daily care.
• Assist in care planning and coordinate with RN; participate in nursing committees as needed.
• Maintain safety, hygiene and infection control in resident care.
• Provide specialized care for residents in units such as Alzheimer care.
