LPN CHARGE NURSE FOR ASSISTED LIVING
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs nursing services based on the facility policies and procedures as regulated by the Stateand Federal law.
PART 1: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS
- Responsible for direction, provision and quality of Nursing care.
- Provides guidance and training to medication aides and HHA's under supervision of Wellness Director.
- Provides weekly communication to Director to discuss and review key issues.
- Provides support to Nursing Leadership through weekly meetings.
- Reviews nursing 24 hour reports and brings issues for resolution to Director.
- Responsible for coordinating and integrating nursing services with other patient care services to provide a continuum of care for the patients.
- Ensures completion, documentation of Incident/Accident Reports in a timely manner.
- Ensures that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap or marital status.
- Works as a team member with all other departments/auxiliary services
PART II. FACILITY-WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES & STANDARDS
- Demonstrate courtesy to resident, their families, and co-worker.
- Maintains resident confidentiality.
- Demonstrates ability to work with others.
- Demonstrates flexibility in assignment to fill resident/family needs.
- Arrives for work on time as scheduled on a consistent basis.
- Adheres to departmental codes.
- Attends mandatory and scheduled in-services/meetings.
PART III: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
EMPLOYEE IS REQUIRED TO:
- Demonstrate ability to handle stressful situations.
- Must be able to write & speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to relate and work with the physically and emotionally challenged resident.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity & ability to work effectively with resident, family members, personnel & support agencies.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
