Allied Services in Scranton seeks a Graduate Practical Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to administer treatment and coordinate care in a geriatric setting. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing or appropriate shift supervisor, the Graduate Practical Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse administers medically prescribed treatment, coordinates nursing care, and monitors the performance of acceptable standards of nursing care on his/her assigned nursing unit.
Type of supervision exercised: Team Leader. Jobs reporting to this position: Nurse Aides.
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
Minimum of one (1) year of satisfactory experience in geriatric setting preferred.
Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check. Possession of a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners required or eligible for such licensure. CPR Certification required or must be obtained and must be maintained.
Must maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Allied Services. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff, residents and visitors. Good Management Skills Required.
Occasional exposure to blood and body substances. Exposure to needle sticks possible.
Works in resident living areas.
