Job summary

Southeast Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to render direct and indirect patient care in support of medical care and established standards of care. You will contribute to nursing assessments and ensure quality care within Southeast Health’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Alabama nursing license.
  • BCLS certification (current).
  • Successful completion of Southeast Health pharmacology exam.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Medical Office Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care per standards of care and Southeast Health policies.

Job Description Summary Utilizing the skill and knowledge of a Licensed Practical Nurse renders direct and indirect patient care in support of medical care and in accordance with established standards of care, as well as policies and procedures of Southeast Health. Contributes to the nursing assessment. Responsible for promoting positive relationships and teamwork among employees and between departments. Responsible and accountable for own clinical practice, as well as the quality and quantity of nursing care given to patients by nursing personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Alabama nursing license.
  • BCLS certification (current).
  • Successful completion of Southeast Health pharmacology exam.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Medical Office Experience preferred.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in an emergency situation.
SKILLS
  • Basic typing skills.
  • Effective telephone techniques.
  • Ability to perform patient assessment including, but not limited to: vital signs, history, medication reconciliation and administering of medications.
  • Ability to document patient assessment.
