Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with students in a school setting. Hours would be Monday-Thursday 8:00a-2:45p.

The LPN will provide nursing care, monitor students with chronic diseases, and perform health assessments and screenings in a school environment. Competitive pay, weekly paychecks, flexible scheduling, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVN license in the practicing state.
• Current Health Certificate.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year LVN/LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, monitors, and manages students with chronic disease and disabilities, and documents services as per orders and care plan.
• Provides emergency crisis nursing care for students and staff.
• Maintains communicable disease prevention and control through education, policy and enforcement.
• Conducts physical healthcare assessments and screenings (temperature checks, vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis, nutrition).
• Provides counseling and guidance to students, parents and staff regarding health-related attendance problems.
• Maintains health-related reports and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provides health education for students, families, and school personnel on growth, home nursing, and first aid.
