Job summary

SpringView Nursing and Rehabilitation seeks an RN or LPN Unit Manager to lead quality resident care in a long-term care setting. The role supervises RNs, LPNs and CNAs, oversees shift changes, medication management, and care-plan updates to reflect resident needs and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates hold an active LPN/RN license, CPR/first aid certification, and at least one year of LTC leadership experience, with Matrixcare knowledge highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license is required.
• CPR certification and up-to-date first aid preferred.
• Experience as LPN/LPN in long-term care is preferred.
• Knowledge of Matrixcare software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors facility clinical systems to facilitate quality resident care in line with laws and guidelines.
• Delivers basic nursing care to residents per physician orders and care plans.
• Directs and develops RNs, LPNs and CNAs on the unit to ensure high-quality care.
• Assesses residents regularly and revises care plans as conditions change.
• Places medication and refill orders with resident pharmacies as needed.
• Manages narcotics inventory and emergency kit readiness.
• Performs shift change reports and ensures proper follow-up.
• Supervises call-light responses and supports timely resident assistance.
• Promotes teamwork by recognizing RNs, LPNs and CNAs.
• Monitors staff schedules and overtime, and tracks performance.

LPN/RN Unit Manager Job Duties

• Monitors facility clinical systems to effectively facilitate quality resident care in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.

• Successfully delivers basic nursing care to residents under in accordance with care plans as ordered by a physician.

• Directs and develops RNs, LPNs and CNAs working on the unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services in accordance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.

• Conducts ongoing assessments of residents to identify care needs and makes needed revisions to the care plan based on changes in resident condition.

• Places medication and refill orders with the resident pharmacies as needed.

• Takes inventory of narcotics and monitors emergency kits.

• Performs shift change reports with the previous shift nurses and ensures proper follow-up.

• Provides overall supervision for timely responses to call lights; responds personally as needed..

• Assists in promoting a team environment through effectively communicating praise and recognition with the RNs, LPNs and CNAs.

• Nursing Unit Manager monitors schedule adherence of staff for lunch and rest breaks, beginning and ending of shifts, and overtime.

• Monitors job performance of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs and provides corrective action as needed.

Unit Manager Requirements

• Current LPN or RN license

• Up-to-date first aid and CPR certification.

• At least one year of experience as an LPN or RN in a Long Term Care setting preferred.

• Knowledge of Matrixcare preferred.
