Job summary

ClearView Healthcare Management is seeking an RN or LPN Unit Manager to lead quality resident care and supervise RNs, LPNs and CNAs on the unit. The role focuses on guiding care plans, coordinating medication and staffing, and fostering a collaborative team environment in a long-term care setting.

Current LPN or RN license and CPR certification are required; one year of LTC experience is preferred. Knowledge of Matrixcare is a plus; benefits include comprehensive coverage and tuition

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN license.
• Up-to-date first aid and CPR certification.
• At least one year of experience as an LPN or RN in a Long Term Care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Matrixcare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors facility clinical systems to facilitate quality resident care in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.
• Delivers basic nursing care to residents per care plans as ordered by a physician.
• Directs and develops RNs, LPNs and CNAs on the unit to ensure high-quality care and services.
• Conducts ongoing assessments of residents to identify care needs and revises care plans accordingly.
• Places medication and refill orders with resident pharmacies as needed.
• Takes inventory of narcotics and monitors emergency kits.
• Performs shift change reports with the previous shift nurses and ensures proper follow-up.
• Provides overall supervision for timely responses to call lights and responds as needed.
• Assists in promoting a team environment through praising and recognizing staff.
• Monitors staff schedule adherence for meals, shifts, breaks, and overtime.
• Monitors job performance of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs and provides corrective action as needed.

LPN/RN Unit Manager Job Duties

• Monitors facility clinical systems to effectively facilitate quality resident care in accordance with laws, regulations and facility guidelines.
• Successfully delivers basic nursing care to residents under in accordance with care plans as ordered by a physician.
• Directs and develops RNs, LPNs and CNAs working on the unit to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services in accordance with all laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Conducts ongoing assessments of residents to identify care needs and makes needed revisions to the care plan based on changes in resident condition.
• Places medication and refill orders with the resident pharmacies as needed.
• Takes inventory of narcotics and monitors emergency kits.
• Performs shift change reports with the previous shift nurses and ensures proper follow-up.
• Provides overall supervision for timely responses to call lights; responds personally as needed..
• Assists in promoting a team environment through effectively communicating praise and recognition with the RNs, LPNs and CNAs.
• Nursing Unit Manager monitors schedule adherence of staff for lunch and rest breaks, beginning and ending of shifts, and overtime.
• Monitors job performance of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs and provides corrective action as needed.

Unit Manager Requirements

• Current LPN or RN license
• Up-to-date first aid and CPR certification.
• At least one year of experience as an LPN or RN in a Long Term Care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Matrixcare preferred.
