Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Newton, MA seeks a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver nursing care to residents in a warm, home-like setting. You will join a team of dedicated professionals focused on safety, comfort, and building meaningful connections with residents and colleagues.

Shifts include Saturday and Sunday 1pm-9pm; per diem as needed across all shifts. Responsibilities include assessments, care coordination, supervision of aides, and adherence

Qualifications

• Current state RN license or LPN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN/LPN program (per state requirements).
• 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred; elder care experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, document, and communicate residents' status.
• Observe and report changes to care team per state regulations.
• Direct and supervise Residents Care Assistants and Lead RCAs.
• Coordinate care with community providers via case management.
• Balance service demands with resident independence.
• Prevent elder abuse/neglect and report as required.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency systems.

We are looking for a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse LPN/Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! As a Registered Nurse, your main role will be to deliver nursing care to our residents within a warm, comfortable, and home-like environment. You will be part of a team of dedicated, like-minded individuals whose support and camaraderie build community, and where long‑lasting relationships with both associates and residents await.

Saturday and Sunday 1pm-9pm

Per diem as needed all shifts

Responsibilities

• Accurately assesses, communicates, and documents residents’ status.
• Observes and reports any significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, RCAs, and Executive Director per state regulations.
• Directs and supervises the daily work assignments of the Resident Care Assistants
• Closely mentors, guides, and directs the Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their job.
• Coordinates care needs with community providers via an effective case management process
• Effectively balances service demands with supporting resident independence.
• Recognizes and assists in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation (financial and other) and reports to appropriate sources per state regulations.
• Responds to emergencies and personal emergency response system and knows when to call for backup.

Requirements

• Current state license as an RN and CPR certification
• Graduate of an approved RN program (per state requirements)
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred.
• Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.
