Job summary

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced LPN to join our care team in Virginia. The LPN will work closely with a primary care physician to deliver patient care and enhance guest experience, serving as both Medical Receptionist and clinical provider when needed.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, blood draws, administering medications and vaccines, coordinating with labs, and supporting front desk duties and care coordination to address gaps in care. Phlebotomy experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience as an LPN in primary care.
  • Graduation from a formal LPN program.
  • Current BLS certification and state nursing license to practice.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections and medications.
  • Front desk duties: scheduling, records requests, referrals, and coordination of care outside the clinic.
  • Document in medical records and communicate results to patients as directed by the Provider.
  • Participate in outreach to engage patients and address gaps in care.

The LPN is a key component of our care team and works closely with a primary care physician to deliver excellent patient care and provide an exceptional guest experience to our patients. Because of our unique model, our LPNS oversee the full spectrum of the patient experience- acting both as a Medical Receptionist as well as assuming clinical responsibilities of a LPN.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.Escorts patients to room and ensures that exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stockedReviews previous medical information and gathers any relevant updated health information from the patient to inform the providerTake vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, bandage wounds, assist with procedures. Work with the contracted labs for additional testsPrepares and administers approved medications and immunizations via oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous or intradermal at the direction of and upon written order from the ProviderPartners with other members of the care team to develop individual patient plan of care including identifying and working to address gaps in careFront desk duties, including: patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinate specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside of the clinic, check-in, check-out, etc.Records accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelinesProcess test results and provide the patient with timely results via e-message, mail or phone as directed in written instructions by the ProviderParticipates in outreach to patients to drive engagement among eligible patient groupsMaintains clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatmentsAbout YouMinimum of 1 year of experience working as a LPN, preferably in Primary Care.Graduation from a formal LPN program.Current BLS certification and nursing license to practice in the state for which you are applying.Phlebotomy experience is required.We are accepting applications for this position until a candidate has been selected.
