Horizon Health is seeking an LPN (PRN) for a Day or Night shift at Abbeville General Hospital in Abbeville, LA. This 16-bed inpatient psychiatric unit serves adults 18+.

Under supervision, the LPN delivers nursing care per the treatment plan and documents care for an assigned patient group. With 1–3 years of nursing experience and active LPN licensure, you will observe patients, monitor vitals, administer meds, and support a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license.
• 1–3 years experience in clinical nursing.
• CPR, BLS, ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care per the treatment plan.
• Observe and document patient condition accurately.
• Obtain vital signs (pulse, BP, temperature, respiration).
• Administer medications and/or injections as needed.
• Assist with seclusion or restraints per approved methods and safety precautions.
• Follow voluntary and involuntary procedures.
• Interpret needs of the patient to nonclinical staff.
• Provide compassionate care respecting patient dignity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Horizon Health is seeking a LPN (PRN) Day or Night Shift to join our team at Abbeville General Hospital in Abbeville, LA. This is a 16 bed inpatient psychiatric unit treating ages 18+.

Under the supervision and/or direction of the Staff Nurse or Charge Nurse, the psychiatric Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the delivery of nursing care consistent with the treatment plan. Additionally, he/she is responsible for concise documentation for an assigned group of patients.

Responsibilities:

• Restore and promote patient’s health by completing the nursing process.
• Observe patients and reports/records their medical and physical condition appropriately.
• Attend to patient personal needs (oral hygiene, toileting, bathing, dressing, etc.) as required.
• Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature and respiration.
• As needed, and using approved methods, assist in safely placing patients in seclusion or restraints; observe suicide/seclusion precautions; including physical requirements for physical holds and safe transport of patients.
• Administer medications and/or injections as needed.
• Follow voluntary and involuntary procedure/process.
• Interpret the nursing and treatment needs of the patient to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient.
• Insure patient dignity and respect patient values. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, families and friends.
• Other duties as assigned.
