Job summary

A mental health treatment facility in Michigan seeks an experienced LPN for a role focused on patient care and medication management in a residential setting. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Completes medical screening and/or assessment of new patients upon admission.
  • Monitors medication process for individuals in residential facilities.
  • Provides ongoing patient education regarding medications.
  • Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
  • Implements and monitors random urine drug screens.
  • Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
  • Cross-trains and supports other areas as needed by supervisor.

Job description

Skywood Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility offering integrated treatment for addiction and mental health conditions. Skywood Recovery provides individual and group therapy, experiential therapy, equine and art therapy, and yoga. Located in Augusta, MI, the campus offers a restorative environment with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

Responsibilities
  • Completes medical screening and/or assessment of new patients immediately upon admission according to level of care procedures.
  • Monitors medication process for individuals living in residential facilities including supervision of medication distribution and the self‑administration process.
  • Prepares Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Provides ongoing patient education (group and individual) regarding medications.
  • Implements and monitors procedures for random urine drug screens to ensure appropriate screening.
  • Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings.
  • Cross‑trains and supports other areas as needed or requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • Unencumbered State of Michigan LPN license.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in psychology/psychiatry or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge in psychiatric and addiction treatment and administration.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Understands and maintains confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources, and other contacts.
  • Can work in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Has general knowledge of computer software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
