Job summary

Springfield Hospital in Vermont is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our clinical team. The LPN will follow the plan of care, communicate patient information, and provide safe nursing care in accordance with hospital policies.

Applicants must have an LPN license in Vermont, graduate from a practical nursing program, BLS certification, and strong communication and critical thinking skills. EMR experience and de-escalation training are required or completed within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a practical nursing education program from an accredited institution.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Vermont
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
• De‑escalation training and certification (within 3 months of hire)
• One (1) year medical/surgical experience (preferred)
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Experience with electronic medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Communicate information to the appropriate places.
• Perform safe patient care adhering to policies and procedures of Springfield Hospital.
• Take responsibility for maintaining and/or increasing knowledge base in area of practice.
